According to a previous post, I frogged the first 40 rows of Holey Sweater in February, but it’s finished at last.

I usually rely on colorful yarn for visual interest, but I switched things up with muted tonal hues and used a variety of stitches for texture.

It’s full of mistakes no one will ever know about if I don’t tell them. It falls slightly short of “a wearable I’m completely proud of”—I know about the mistakes—but it’s progress in that direction.
I have more of the same type of yarn for Next Project and have a better idea how it will behave now. On to The Best Time to Wear a Striped Sweater Is All the Time, which will have six colors because a box of colorful yarn is therapeutic.

Many of the stitches in Holey Sweater and the ribbing in Striped Sweater’s trim are thanks to extremely detailed text-and-photo tutorials by Nordic Hook.
