If the form on this page isn’t working, try this link.

If you want ONLY new-release notifications, click here. (Do note this is automated and controlled by a third party, with the potential drawbacks noted in the “Why Bother?” section below.)

Purpose

The purpose of this newsletter is to promote my writing to readers who are interested enough in that subject to want it in their inboxes. This may take the form of, but not be limited to, content related to published books, trying to whip up interest in forthcoming releases, and notification of price reductions. It may end up being new-release announcements only because I disbelieve sending junk on a schedule purported to maintain “engagement” is all that engaging!

Why bother?

There are dozens of options for finding out when an author has a new release (sellers, social media, Goodreads, Bookbub, etc.), but none of those third parties is motivated to give you that particular information because they have a million other ways to get your money. The author will always let you know. A direct line between you and the author, sans middleman, guarantees you’re kept informed even if a struggling bookstore closes down or the evil overlord decides new release notifications are now a service they’ll provide only for an extortionate fee.

Sometimes there’s free stuff to read, too.

Frequency

At most once a month. (As of right now, I don’t even have enough news for a monthly announcement.)

Process

This list is double opt-in (sign up and click the button in the confirmation email) to prevent anyone being signed up against their will. If the confirmation email isn’t in your inbox shortly after completing the form, check your spam folder (and/or promotions tab in Gmail) and add newsletter@lenabrassard.com to your contacts to make sure there are no further problems getting what you signed up for.

If you change your mind between clicking “subscribe” above and receiving the confirmation email, simply trash that email. There will be no followup nag to confirm, and you will not be subscribed.

You are not signed up until you confirm and receive the “You have successfully subscribed” message.

Unsubscribe

Every newsletter-generated email has at least one unsubscribe link in it. Click and be free! Removal is automated, so unless a newsletter was on its way at the moment you unsubbed, you’ll never get another one. (Unless you resubscribe, which you’re welcome to do.)

Since no one got on the list against their will, please unsubscribe rather than marking as spam, which negatively affects the newsletter’s “reputation” score and the ability of other subscribers to receive emails they still want.

Privacy

I will not sell or otherwise share your email address with any other party.

I will not change the stated purpose of this newsletter (promoting my writing) or copy its subscribers to non-writing-related ventures I may have now or in the future.

I will not use your email address to find you on social media or contact you in any way other than the newsletter you signed up to receive.

The only circumstance in which I will export/import subscriber information is a change of newsletter hosts. In that event, subscribers will be asked to reconfirm their subscriptions for list integrity purposes.
